WINNIPEG BLOCK PARENT PROGRAM
The Winnipeg Police Service is looking to increase the number of families participating in the Winnipeg Block Parent Program.
Did you know the National Block Parent Program underwent a full review by the Royal Canadian Mounted Police in late 2006?
From the R.C.M.P. findings, "the policies and procedures established for the operation of the Block Parent Program are sound."
The fall of 2007 saw the introduction of new Block Parent signs which have improved security features. Further information available by visiting;

Football Parents
The Spud and Steak Night for this year’s football fundraising is planned for Thursday Sept 30th at Tijuana’s, Canad Inns, Polo Park. It runs from 5- 8 pm. This event is a major fundraiser for the football team. Not only do we have a Varsity team, but also a newly formed Junior Varsity team
There will be a Silent Auction at the event, and we need your help.
Here’s how:
- We are asking every family to contribute. Students, you are asked to approach businesses you frequent, or your place of employment. Parents, you may have promotional items from your own workplace, or know someone who owns a business and would be willing to donate. Gift cards and certificates are an easy suggestion.
- The attached letter can be used if you are approaching a business. Please remember to also use the Thank-you letter, and sign your name on behalf of the Football Fundraising Committee. Additional copies of the letter are available in the school office.
- If you prefer not to solicit or donate a gift, you may choose to donate cash. The committee will use the money to purchase items for the silent auction.
- We are also collecting Canadian Tire money, to be used to purchase gifts.
- Please drop off any donations, cheques, or Canadian Tire money to Coach Rob Bell at the school before practise, or contact Lorraine Goudie - quib@mts.net- or Kim Moore - 4moore@mymts.net – Deadline is Tuesday Sept 28 – but the earlier the better.
Thanks for your support, Lorraine Goudie, Kim Moore Football Fundraising-Silent Auction Chairpersons
