Description - This Course is a study of woodworking and the processes involved. The course is designed to promote problem solving skills and help students acquire skills necessary to be able to contribute to society. Emphasis will be placed on planning and designing stages with students demonstrating the various skills though projects. Projects include: Intarsia Dragon, Step Stool, choice projects, money bank. |
Attendance - Attendance is extremely important area when dealing with this course. Most of the course work will be done in lab time and it is necessary for the student to be in attendance in order to receive the demonstrations and safety required in order to complete the course. |
General Objectives * Describe the importance of safety in the lab * Apply knowledge of tools and procedures to produce projects * Solve mathematical problems that are associated with the woodworking field * Develop the necessary skills in order to safely use hand and power tools * Apply knowledge of planning and design to various projects and problems |

Description - This Course is a study of woodworking and carpentry. The course is designed to promote problem solving skills and help students acquire skills necessary to be able to contribute to society. Emphasis will be placed on planning and designing stages with students demonstrating the various skills though projects. Students will participate in shop improvements and maintenance. Students will also be involved in prop building, design, and creation for various school events. Grade level projects will be assigned according to time. |
